The Atmospheric Climate and Earth Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks a postdoctoral research associate to improve our process-level understanding of the aerosol lifecycle at regional scales using both measurements and modeling. While the incumbent is expected to develop their own science plan, research is expected contribute to one or more of the following broad categories: 1) developing an understanding of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation processes related to biogenic, biomass burning and anthropogenic sources through atmospheric chemistry based on recent laboratory and field measurements, 2) improving the representation of aerosol and cloud chemistry of SOA and its coupling with clouds and convection, 3) Investigating processes controlling new particle formation and chemistry, and 4) examining how multi-scale processes that influence aerosol populations. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with a team of atmospheric scientists at PNNL.
